At just 10 years old, founder Willie Muñoz arrived in the United States from Cuba facing serious health challenges and financial hardship. By 24, he had already launched Deluxe Freight alongside his mother—building the company from the ground up with grit, long hours, and a clear vision: deliver a higher standard of shipping.
In the early days, Willie did it all—earning trust one shipment at a time. Through hurricanes, economic downturns, and operational challenges, the company never stopped delivering.
He also recognizes his wife as an unsung hero, working alongside him for decades and playing a vital role behind the scenes.
That foundation of loyalty and service led to Deluxe Freight becoming a trusted name in Caribbean logistics and its acquisition by Tropical Shipping in 2009.
